Gold Fever Follies and Rossland Museum
This summer in the town of Rossland, two long-standing events -- museum tours and the Gold Fever Follies musical revue - have joined forces to create a winning combination of theatre and history. A single ticket for $15 allows patrons to tour the museum and attend a Follies show (Follies show only-$7 for adults, museum and mine tour-$10). Family passes are also available, and children aged five years and younger are free at the museum.
The hour-long Gold Fever Follies performance of 'A Hot Time in the Old Town' includes real cancan dancers, local lore, and old-time tunes. The
production is held at the Miners' Hall (1765 Columbia Avenue) and runs from July 1 to August 22. Shows are held Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. and Wednesday
through Saturday at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.. Also, actors from the Follies will be performing interactive historical scenes on the museum grounds Tuesdays,
Thursdays and Fridays at 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m..
This year's show is directed by Leeanne McLim, and the cast consists of local performers Paige Culley, Kallee Lins, Erik Mortimer, Sarah Orton, Andrea Page, as well as Darshana Dhunnoo from Montreal, Ian Fundytus from Okotoks and Riley Sims from Toronto.
