Castlegar Publisher calls for fine artists to publish in Art Book

FINE ART OF THE KOOTENAYS
 
The Creative Edge, Fine Art of The Kootenays is a hard cover art book that provides an overview of contemporary art in the Kootenays. It is a resource book for artists, galleries, schools, museums, dealers and art collectors who are interested in learning about the artists and the art of the Kootenays. This beautiful art book has a full colour hardcover and is an 8½" x 11” coffee-table size book. The Creative Edge contains over a hundred and fifty profiles of artists and more than 400 works of original art. It is printed in high quality colour in British Columbia, Canada and contains more than 160 pages.

Marketing and distribution is through local book stores in the Kootenays, e-commerce channels, webpages and Amazon.com. Book will also be distributed to all of the art colleges and selected universities across Canada.

CALL FOR ARTISTS
Professional artists are invited to submit materials for selection to become published in The Creative Edge, Fine Art of The Kootenays, a collectible art book edited and published in Castlegar, Canada.
 
CRITERIA
All material submitted must be original content created by the artist. Submissions of fine art including, all forms of painting, mixed media and design as well as sculpture, ceramic, jewelry, fiber art and photography will be considered. All fine art should be nonfunctional and be created for aesthetic purposes only. 

THE SELECTION
All entries must go through the selection process. Place and availability in the book are subject to quality and acceptance. The nominations and inclusions are judged solely by visuals submitted, as an attachment.  Send to: creativeedge@karlapearce.com . The editors will review all submissions and make decisions on acceptance. After notification of acceptance artists will receive an artist’s contract.
 
LAYOUT
Published artists receive one full-colour page in The Creative Edge, Fine Art of The Kootenays. Each page will include a 100-200 word artist statement /history written by the artist and up to three color images of their work. Published artists will also receive a free copy of the book as well as a 10% discount on additional copies.  
 
FEES
All artists must provide a $250 fee. The cost includes full editing, creative layout and design per-page, text review and post-editing, plates, offset printing, binding, packing, shipping, and distribution. This can be provided by an artist representative, a sponsor, a corporation, individual contributor or the accepted artist.

Photographs and an artist statement can be provided to artists that need assistance in this field at an additional fee of $100.
 
The Creative Edge, Fine Art of The Kootenays is scheduled for publication early 2009.

DEADLINE
We have to inform that the layout process is in progress and to make a reservation in the book please submit visuals for the selection process as soon as possible. All submissions will be reviewed in the order they are received.
