The first instalment in the RCAC's 2010 Performance Series: Redgy Blackout!

At the Rossland Miners Hall, Tickets $18 in Advance, $20 at the door.

Crafted out of new friendships and a mutual love for music, Redgy Blackout's new album "The Leap" is an eclectic collection of songs about looking life square in the eye and living with more awareness of these crazy times. Acoustic and electric guitars with banjo and trumpet are fused together with catchy melodies and earthy grooves into a fresh retro sound.

Another Great Show! The Joe Hill Coffeehouse, Rossland's exciting 
monthly concert series, welcomes many of the best performers of the West Kootenays.

This month's performers are:

Lori McWilliam & Sarah Currie-classical piano duet, 

Norma Fellows-jazz/blues vocals;

members of the RSS Dance Academy/Kootenay Danceworks;

Matt Williamson-guitarist/singer;

Kara Deane- almost 12 singing sensation;

Dan Perrault- Nelson's best song writer; 

Aaron Cosbey- "neo-eco-psycho folk";

Barney Bentall - March 14th 2010

When his group, Legendary Hearts dispanded in 2000, Bentall moved to Clinton, BC to operate a cattle ranch. After this change of perspective, 2007 brought the solo release of "Gift Horse" on True North Records. Bentall also formed The Grand Cariboo Opry with a variety of musicians as a way to help raise funds for needy residents of the downtown East side of Vancouver. His newest album "Inside Passage" is Bentall's seventh studio album, "I wanted to write a collection of songs that were loosley based on moving through life"

Mister Mann is the solo project of Spirit of the West's frontman and songwriter John Mann after 11 albums and countless tours of the UK, Europe and North America with Spirit, Mann's solo album December Looms is a return to his striped down alt folk roots. Mann pens beautiful melodies with emotionally honest lyrics that capture the intimate momemts of his home town of Vancouver, its occupants, the fragile details of their dysfunctional love and the loss of a city's innocence.

Shane Koyczan is one of the world's premier spoken word performers. His book, "Visiting Hours was hailed as a book of the year selection by The Guardian UK and The Globe and Mail Canada Newspapers. Born and raised in Northwestern Canada, Shane was the first poet from outside the USA to win the prestigious USA National Individual Poetry Slam. He has performed to full houses around the world - from University amphitheatres to the most respected music and literary festivals.
